Description
A V-type air-cooled heat exchanger is a cooling system in which finned tube bundles are arranged in a āVā configuration to improve heat transfer efficiency and reduce space requirements. In this design, hot process fluid flows inside the tubes while ambient air is forced or induced by fans to pass over the external finned surfaces, removing heat from the fluid. The V-shape allows for better airflow distribution, increased heat transfer area within a compact footprint, and reduced hot air recirculation compared to flat designs. These exchangers are widely used in industries such as oil and gas, petrochemical plants, and power generation, especially in locations where water is scarce, since they rely solely on air for cooling.
