An air blast oil cooler is a heavy-duty, air-cooled heat exchanger designed specifically to cool high-viscosity oils. The design features a high-pressure core assembly composed of tubes and highly conductive fins. Hot oil from the hydraulic or lubrication circuit is pumped through the internal tubes of the cooler. Simultaneously, an integrated, high-velocity electric or hydraulic motor fan blasts ambient air across the external finned surface. Heat is rapidly transferred from the oil to the air stream and dissipated into the atmosphere, returning cooled oil back to the system reservoir.
